It was played, it was danced to and for those two facts, it has become a Northern Soul record. Yep Joe 90 did it at Wigan, the kid shirt lifter band did it at Cleethorpes That said Jimmy wasn't too many miles down the road!!! I have to take issue with the signs on the stage. Surely they should be a little more specific Just an observation of course for future health and safety reasons when the circus is in town. Lorraine Chandler. Another of the greats has gone.

Aug Superb ales at reasonable prices Batemans Ales on draught. Quality music totally across the board for a Bank Holiday weekend. It was okay. The bread could have been toasted. Chopped beef was chopped to fine. The Cabbage was over done, as in, too many other ingredients in them. Double barrel baked potato very good, nice and tender, the skin is not tough or burnt as I've experienced at other places and you get plenty of meat.
The people are very friendly, willing to talk to you about their product. There seems to be a nice friendly rapport with the people working behind the line and that's a really good thing when you're in close quarters.
That being said, regrettably the potato was the only true Saving Grace. The macaroni and cheese was watery and running. The fried okra was somewhat overdone and dry, very bland. The cream corn pretty decent but it's missing something possibly a little bit of fresh pepper and I don't mean the kind that you get pre-ground. The barbecue sauce is too sweet but it does have a nice lite kick. As for the pulled pork it seemed to be okay.
The brisket however was somewhat bland and could use some flavoring and possibly even be cooked hotter near the end to crisp up the outer part of the meat. It almost reminds me of the briskets you get from the supermarket deli.
The tea was pretty weak so I opted for a soda. Also, even though I'm not a fan of country music it was a little bit too loud, it should be an accent to complement the surroundings and should not be blaring. But some tweaking would definitely be a good thing one major tweak is do not use pre-packaged frozen okra if possible or find a fresher source.
Also, thicken the mac and cheese up a little bit because it's more like mac and cheese soup. A couple of months ago my family and I were not happy with the amount of meat on their BBQ! The sandwich was more bread than meat! Lord have mercy the food was great the meat was delicious and plentiful and the bake potato was perfect. Way to step it up and be the great restaurants we have always known you could be, thank you!!!! My family and I have eaten here for years.
The last two time we purchased sandwiches we were very disappointed. The 4 thinly sliced brisket on a hoagie roll and watered down BBQ sauce stunned us. Their generous portions are no longer available and the price is outrageous for the meager portions of meat.
I ate here last night and for the price I thought I would have a better dinner. They say they're not stingy with the meat, well maybe IF I were a young boy. It's a further drive but the food, price and portion is much better at Sweet Georgie Brown's.
We really appreciate you stopping by and giving us a shot. We'd love to hear more about your visit and take this opportunity to improve. Thanks again for your comments. Big fan of this store but also the other ones that aren't around anymore. I used to hit the one on Spring Valley and 75 in the 90s and the one at Sandy Lake and 35 on the way home from the airport.
But I really loved this place as it has just the right kind of feel for a BBQ joint. I can't describe what it is but the sausage and sauce combination here is unlike any other place I've tried. It's simply the best I ever had. It might just be me, but I suspect it's the sauce. A good, no-nonsense place to put the feed bag on. Serviceable place for the basics.
Nothing here will change your life, but when you want some brisket and sauce this place will do it just fine. The brisket in particular is tender without being too fatty. And the kids or the kid in you will love the macaroni and cheese here. So lucky to live near this amazing BBQ heaven! Never been disappointed My husband and I love this place. You can smell the wood burning outside and inside you are always warmly welcomed.
This is our go to for BBQ. Oh my, this place is so good! You get more than Spring Creek gives you. The meat is very tender and all the sides are so tasty! Mgr there is super nice. Baked potatoes are huge! BBQ sauce is really good.
Sauce is not sickly sweet like most places around here. Brisket is good enough to eat without sauce--now, that's some good Q! They live up to their motto: "We are not stingy with the meat".
