A very good plot that kept the action and drama intense. The one major complaint I have about this romance pertains to the hero himself. He is consistently portrayed as a sexy, charismatic, dangerous, intelligent and compassionate leader. However, the way in which the character's dialogue and actions are presented fail to elicit real lingering emotion for the reader. So, the hero ultimately is very dull and unbelievable in his passion and seductiveness.
I think maybe his language or speech patte A very good plot that kept the action and drama intense. I think maybe his language or speech patterns did not match the type of character that he portrayed.
Based on this, the story only achieved an average rating from me. I just had a difficult time becoming invested in the main characters. Nov 03, Anne B. Cole rated it it was amazing. Blind Allegiance combines a brutal, sexy, Viking warrior with a shy, but sassy, daughter of an English Lord. Violetta Rand captures readers attention by creating realistic feelings of an impossible love.
Threads of religion, lore, architecture, and tradition are carefully woven, enabling the reader to learn about the characters and time period without deterring from the plot and love story. Many twists and turns keep the pages turning late into the night. Looking forward to Randvoir and Noelle's Blind Allegiance combines a brutal, sexy, Viking warrior with a shy, but sassy, daughter of an English Lord.
Looking forward to Randvoir and Noelle's ongoing journey. Will definitely buy the next in Rand's series! Sep 06, Holly rated it really liked it. The story opens up in the middle of the Viking world, full of the wonder and mystery that world brings — and the blood.
Oct 14, Dalene rated it really liked it Shelves: reviewed First, I would like to thank the author Violetta Rand for giving me this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story.
The characters were well developed. I love historical romances, vikings right up there with Scotsmen for me. I am looking forward to more from this author and more of this series. Sep 14, Daneesha rated it really liked it Shelves: viking. Viking romance with hunky, blond hero named Randvior Loved this book!
It was hard to put down and ended to quickly. I will definitely buy the other books in this series. I loved the main characters. Blind Allegiance This is a true Viking story. Rand was everything I thought of for a viking.
Big, strong and faithful. Loved by his family and friends. Can't wait to read more. May 31, Linda rated it really liked it. The author's mechanics of good writing were excellent. The storyline had more sex scenes than I needed to read, but the love and devotion between the protagonists was probably developed better through a few wonderful sexual encounters than through any other method.
Set in the mid 15th or 16th century, Christianity had spread throughout northern England, but Odin remained the god of the North. Somehow, the author had to show the need of tolerance of each other and their different religions. Just The author's mechanics of good writing were excellent. Just think of how far the author could have taken the history of contentious subjects and have shown resolutions of the same. I wonder how long such a book would be?
Thank you, Ms. Rand, for a good read. Oct 27, Jamie The Kansan Reader rated it liked it Shelves: kindle-unlimited , historical-romance. Actual rating 2. When I see Viking, Eric Northman pops into my head.
Randvior is no Eric Northman. I wanted sexy time with a Viking but the sex scenes if you want to call them that were lack luster. Very lack luster. There was hardly any blood and guts. Plus there was a lot of mercy. It was understandable with Randvior's mother but he could have killed more people and it could have been explained better. At least to me it could have.
This one wasn't for me. M Actual rating 2. Viking seemed more like Mr. I Love Pony. Jul 04, Jan rated it liked it. Anybody who writes and gets published deserves a lot of credit. Writing is hard! What made me not like it very much is I had to go back and re-read parts for clarification.
But I did finish it And what happens? It ended on a cliffhanger. Nope I love historical stories but this one is lacking in so many ways. The reviews were good so I went for it.
There was no real character development, usually when they have a band of men with the main character you anticipate their upcoming stories. It was fairly violent not an issue for me. Finding love This story is interesting about a man who went to English land and found this young woman who he couldn't get out of his head, young woman brother sold her to this Viking. I give this story a four star rating because it is very good it keep you in the story until the end.
An okay romance. This was my first viking romance and I must say it reminded me of highlander romance novels. But that's not a bad thing. If you like highlander romances you'll probably like viking ones too. This was a turbulent romance, especially at first.
And Noelle was so fickle in her moods and opinion of Rand at the beginning. Vinyl records lot 's - 's. Forever Running 2. Heart of Gold 3. My Ship of Dreams 4. Just an Echo 5. As you might expect, there's nothing on B-Movie's sole album for Sire that quite matches the atmospheric club hit "Nowhere Girl," one of new wave's classic moments.
But the U. On Forever Running , they offered walloping dance beats on the title track and the single "Switch On-Switch Off" and shimmering creations built around Paul Statham's piano and guitar "My Ship of Dreams" , finding success in both approaches. And on the majestic, haunting "Just an Echo," B-Movie came closer to recapturing the melancholy glory of "Nowhere Girl" than anyone had a right to expect.
However, by side two, the band had run short on ideas, and committed a common but still inexcusable faux pas with the last track -- a remake of "Nowhere Girl" that, needless to say, is far inferior to the original. Still, the good material here is good indeed, and certainly belongs in the collection of any true '80s fan.
